facebook shares grabbing images from my instagram

    Hello. I know this has been discussed a lot elsewhere but I still can’t seem to fix my problem.

    When sharing a post to facebook, a random picture is chosen and displayed (and then often disappears completely when viewing the link on facebook). I’ve even deleted the picture that keeps being chosen but facebook still seems to access it.

    I can’t apply widgets or meta data (I don’t think I have flexibility to be able to do this if i’m just using a template for my blog?)

    PLEASE, if you can help I would be very grateful.

    Hi!

    Facebook will decide which picture best matches the content. You can help Facebook decide which picture is the best by assigning each post a featured image. If you do not assign a featured image Facebook gets to pick.

    The reason the picture shows-up (even after you delete it) could be that Facebook has yet to clear its cache, or stored information from the link.

    You may have luck running the post-link through Facebooks debugger which will clear the cache and give you a preview (be sure to scroll down).
