Facebook Shares have disappeared

    Hello!

    My facebook share counts have recently disappeared. It is very frustrating because I had large amounts of shares on many posts. This hurts my sites credibility and my marketing. I use the normal WordPress sharing buttons on my site that can be added and taken off though Dashboard-Settings-Sharing…Thank you to anyone that can help.

    Hi Molly,
    This is usually related to a change in URL, such as http to https. Social count APIs depend on the URL being exactly the same, and they reset when your domain changes.

    That said, the blog you’re writing in about is not hosted on WordPress.com. This blog is self hosted, and unfortunately not supported via this forum. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are a little separate, and that can be confusing.

    Try discussing this or searching for this topic in the forums at https://wordpress.org/support/ instead. You may find plugin or code edit suggestions that are appropriate for your site.
