facebook stil not showing statusses the way I want
-
I can’t get facebook to publicize the way I want. I want it to say something like check out my latest post and then give the link. For example, “Check out my latest post, accessible web hosting options.” How can I do this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You will have to file a support ticket and ask for Staff help with that > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
-
Read the support page on the Publicize feature. It shows you that you can customize the message on a post by post basis: http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/ .

@tsp, I have looked through that support documentation. The problem is is that I want it to say something before the link to the post. Take a look at the example I gave originally. That’s what I want it to look like, without the quotes of course.

I see this. However, everything I type in that box goes into the link for me, and I can’t figure out how to change it.
-
I don’t have it set up on my blog, so I cannot test it, but the indication from the support page is that we can edit the message that is before the link.
Try this. Put your cursor right at the very beginning and then type in your message and then delete the old stuff. It could be that the cursor is somehow getting into the code for the link.

The code would likely not show.
Let me dig up my facebook stuff and set my blog here up on publicize and take a look at things.

OK, what happens is that your entire message you put into the custom message box ends up being linked to your post on your blog here. You can check out my facebook page: facebook.com/richard.spees . I didn’t include the http://www. in front of the URL since it typically will get me thrown in the forum spam dungeon.

Ok. I wanted to be able to control where the link went so that there aren’t just two links, one for my name and then the post link. Are you saying that there is no way to do this? Also, I’ve included links in posts before, so why are you so concerned about being treated as spam if you include links?
-
I just tried and it will not accept an HTML text link in the custom message, so there is no way to add other links.
The spam filter here seems to be sensitive to me putting external links into forum posts here. I get “spammed” quite often.

Staff have previuosly mentioned the many changes that go on at the Facebook end of thingsgve rise to onging problems. Raincoaster recommends using Networked blogs. Maybe you should consider that alternative.
