Facebook updates on my blog

  I have a wordpress.com blog.
  I like how the Twitter Widget allows real time updates from my Twitter account, to the front page of my blog.
  My question:
  Do I need to self host – have a wordpress.org blog – and use a plug in – if I want my facebook posts to update, on my blog?
  Hope I’ve been clear, if not please feel free to question or correct what I am trying to accomplish.
