Facebook Widget

  I have added the Facebook like widget to out site, but would like to get rid of the ugly boarder that the widget adds. I thought this would be an easy fix with custom css. Using firebug in firefox I found the elements I needed to change, the changes in firebug worked great, but I am struggling to reference it in the custom css editor to apply the changes.

  The code I edited in firebug was as follows:

  
.fbConnectWidgetTopmost {border:none!important;}


  The css is generated by facebook, I assume this is why I am having problems overriding it. I am sure this issue has come up before but had no luck finding a solution for wordpress.com. Does anyone have a solution?

  Hmm I just joined but I’m trying to figure out how to get the Facebook widget… Have you tried Appearances or maybe Themes? :) I’m sorry I’m probably not much help…

  The site linked to your username is not a free hosted WordPress.com blog and this forum is only for free hosted WordPress.com bloggers ,who have purchased a custom design (CSS editing upgrade).   I’m afraid I don’t know CSS editing and won’t be able to help you with the problem, but at least I can provide a live link.

  PS: Gravatar itself made this change. I hate it.

  The Facebook like widget styles are set from a different domain (facebook.com) and so they cannot be edited with CSS only on the WordPress.com side.

  You can update your profile think by updating the Website field on your Users → Personal Settings page if you’d like.

  That is a shame as it does look a bit of a mess. Perhaps I will have to leave the facebook widget out.
