Facebook widget not directing to my facebook page just facebook homepage

  Hi – can anyone help. I have a new blog on wordpress.com and although I can publicize to my facebook page (it’s connected) the widget only links to the facebook homepage. I have tried to change link to include my facebook id but it doesn’t seem to work.

  Hi there. Are you talking about the Facebook Like Box? That only works with Facebook Pages, not with your personal Facebook Profile. http://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-integration/#facebook-like-box

  I cannot find any page on Facebook with the name Kirsty Fanshaw Gift Interiors. If you do in fact have a page, what is the exact URL that appears in the address bar of your browser when you view that page?

  My business Facebook URL is Facebook.com/KirstyFanshawGiftsInteriors. The ‘follow me on Facebook’ widget on my website kirstyfanshaw.co.uk does not seem to be connected as it is a blank white box and takes you to the Facebook log in page. Kirsty

  When I insert that URL directly into my browser it takes me to the Facebook home page, so the problem appears to be on Facebook’s side.

  Please go to your Facebook Page settings and make sure your page is in fact published. It should be the very first option under General Settings: Page Visibility

  I managed via Google to find a few posts linking to your Facebook page and with every one if I click on the link to your page it takes me to the Facebook home page. Your page also does not show up at all in Facebook’s internal search. That tells me the problem is with Facebook. For some reason your page isn’t visible and I’m guessing that’s why the widget also can’t show it.

  You could check whether you perhaps have country and age restrictions active on your page (also under the page’s General Settings), and aside from that I think you’ll have to contact Facebook’s support section.
