Facebook Widget question

I enabled the Facebook Widget, but (being new to WP) am a bit confused…If I post on FB does it go TO the WP page, or a page/post on my WP page go TO FB? I’ve tried both, to no avail. Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there. I don’t see a Facebook widget anywhere on your site. Where did you add it?

There are three options for integrating with Facebook:

    1) You can add a Facebook sharing button that will appear at the bottom of any post or page via Settings ->Sharing. This will enable readers to share a link to their own Facebook profiles with a single click. https://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/

    2) You can connect your Facebook account to your blog via Publicize under Settings ->Sharing. This will let you automatically share new posts to your Facebook profile and/or Facebook pages where you’re an administrator. Publicize only works for posts on your blog, not pages. https://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/

    3) The Facebook Pages Widget allows you to display your Facebook page (not your personal Facebook profile) on your blog. If you set the widget settings to display your page feed, any content you post to that page on Facebook will appear inside the widget on your blog. https://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-integration/#facebook%C2%A0page-plugin

    Hello Janice,

Using the Facebook Widget, you can show updates from your Facebook Page to your WordPress.com blog, in a widget.

If you would like to automatically post updates from your WordPress.com blog to Facebook, you can connect your FB account to Facebook using in the ‘Sharing’ sub-menu in the ‘Settings’ page. You can also add Facebook sharing buttons to your blog posts.

For more information, you may check this support article:

    Hope this helps.

    Happy blogging!

    – Hari.
