Facebook widget too wide
-
The Facebook Like Box widget used to work just fine for me, as I manually adjusted the width down to 240 or 260px (don’t remember exactly); now as you can see it’s gone up to 300px width (too wide for the side column) and anytime I try to change this to a lower value, it just defaults back to 300px when I click on Save.
Any suggestions for solutions or work-arounds?

UPDATE: the work-around I’ve come up with for now is to create a smaller size widget using Facebook plugins and then, because the code doesn’t work with sites hosted on WordPress.com, made an image of it, and inserted that into the sidebar linking it to my Facebook page. Then I of course I removed the Facebook widget.
This is however a workaround that’s made a static image of what was supposed to me a dynamic widget, so any better solutions are welcome.

That is a clever workaround but WordPress.com needs to do better and fix this bug. The facebook like box plugin is broken.
