Faded/green color in twenty-ten header photos

My photos looks great in my posts, but whenever I try to place one in a the twenty-ten header it shows up faded and–this is just my guess–with a slight green tinge. I’ve tried both cropping from photos already published in posts, and creating an image sized for the header measurements directly from a raw file. Nothing works. The header photo colors are unpalatably muted. Anyone have any ideas?

The resolution of your current header image is 240. Try uploading images in the correct pixel dimensions for the theme but in a resolution of 72 (which is what browsers/monitors display), or maybe one of the ‘standard’ multiples such as 300.

Also make sure it is saved with an sRGB colorspace.

I created a file with the pixel dimensions from a raw file in Photoshop rather than Lightroom. Seems to work. The color space is SRGB–in LR it’s something else (ProPhoto?). Anyway, big improvement. Thanks.

You are welcome. For the web, it has to be sRGB or things will be off color wise. sRGB is the web standard.
