I looked into Instagram API and it says we do not the submit a permission for Instagram API (as shown below)
You do not need to submit for review for this use case. Some widgets may ask you to register a new client ID, but you should not submit it for review for the widget to work. Your client can remain in sandbox mode and the widget will have access to your last 20 media. If you are having issues with the widget, please contact the owner of the widget directly.
Is this what you refer about the issue of API?

Our developers are still working on a fix for the issue, but there have been quite a few reports come in on this not working for users. Therefore, it is something that we are going to try and prioritize and keep you all updated on.

@yuirislee, I was wondering too, and waiting for updates. This is not a priority staff-doublebassd, I can understand, but we’re checking more than once a day if it’s starting to work! We really miss IG widget and we don’t undestand why it’s not working. Better: it’s was working before starting with a blogger profile! Than I wanted to change the IG account in WordPress, and ….

I also tried other sugestions that I found on other topics like clearing the cache and trying different browsers (I tried Chrome and Mozilla), logging in and off on both WordPress and Instagram accounts, tried authorizing on another tab and of course, I always publish before trying to authorize and I still get the message “There was a problem authorizing with Instagram. Please try again in a moment.”

Update: Just tried using my WP admin page for that blog (https://airgirldotco.wordpress.com/wp-admin/widgets.php) and did again all those same sugestions of clearing cache etc and still the same and same message.

Please try the following:
- make sure you are logged into Instagram and keep it open in a different browser tab
- disconnect WordPress in your Instagram account (Profile > Settings > Authorized Apps)
- try connecting again and check for console errors in your browser while you’re trying to connect in the Customizer: https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/advanced-browser-troubleshooting/#javascript-errors

@enricatsubaki, please try the steps as outlined in my reply just above yours. Also please try them in more than one browser if it doesn’t work in the first one you try.
Please let us know what browsers you’ve tried.

I have the same problem with instagram connection. Problem takes quite a while. I’ll try every three days to sign up again and still the same. I’m so sad.
