Fail To Change Publish Date To Earlier Date
-
The blog is set to private because I am working on setting it up. It uses “Penscratch 2” theme.
I imported some of the posts 2013-2017 without any difficulties. They all appear as published under one date, the date of the import.
I tried to change the dates to the original publication date in WP admin board, as was advised on the forums. The dates do not change, a fail.
On my other blog which uses a different theme – no problem with date change, I tested. I presume it is the fault with “Penscratch 2”.
I need a date change, because it is an archive. Please advise.
Thank you.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I want to add that in WP Admin board the posts show the original publication date. However, the date for each post on the website is the date of the export.
-
Hi there, where did you import the posts from?
Regardless, since your site is marked Private, I’ve tagged this for Staff.
-
I imported them from my other WP blog, under the same author name.

Not only does it not change the dates, but I have just created a post called Test Post, and it published it under the same date as the export: 20.05.17
Something has gone haywire.
-
Actually, I just checked, and the export of the posts was done on 25.05.17. NOT on 20.05.17. For some reason it keeps pegging everything to that date.

Hi –
Can you double check that your WordPress.com account, web browser, and pc are using the same timezone? And that the clocks are synced?
https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/general-settings/2/
Sometimes one of these items can be off and it will cause issues like this.
Can you create a new export file of the old posts? Let’s see if running it as new works.
-
Both the computer and the WordPress account run the same time zone.
I have just published another test page. It still shows 20.05.17 as the date of publication.
I don’t want to export again, it will mess up my posts. The issue is that all new posts get published under this date of 20.05.17, so I don’t think it has anything to do with the export action.
What do I do if all the posts will be under the same date?
Help!!
Thank you.

Hi –
You can see in the URL that the publication date is today, https://enlightenmentmyth.wordpress.com/
2017/05/30/one-more-test/If you look at your post list here https://enlightenmentmyth.wordpress.com/2017/05/30/one-more-test/ or via My Sites > Posts the publication date/time is today at 6 hours ago.
Is it the bit under the picture that you are inquiring about? That is the only place I can see the date you have shared.
-
Yes, correct. The bit under that picture.
Also, I added the recent posts widget to the sidebar, and all the posts show under that same date: 20.05.17 It looks misleading.
-
All of the publushed articles, irrespective of whether they were an import or I created them from scratch – show under that same date.
-
OK, I figured it out.
It doesn’t like the custom date format. I had it set to DD/MM/YYYY. I changed it to the preset value: M, DD, YYYY, and it shows the correct post date now.
