Failed attachments for….

  Some attachments were rejected from the following WordPress.com Post by Email: – ages2.mp3 – Invalid file type

  Why do I keep receiving this email response when I try to use the Post by Email feature? I have the Premium account, video press is activated, etc. Can someone help or explain what I’m missing here.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You’re missing the Space Upgrade. Without it, you cannot upload mp3’s.

  thanks for the reply.

  I purchased the Premium account today which included space upgrade. And its not just mp3, i need m4a to upload as well as mp4 and mov. I get the same failed message of unsupported file type. I basically upgraded to the premium so I can post via email to my self hosted site, using the jetpack plugin.

  Oh, you don’t need any upgrades here to use anything with Jetpack with WordPress.org blogs.

  You can cancel/refund that via Store -> Domains in the WordPress.com blog’s Dashboard.

  On your WordPress.org blog, you can add those files just like uploading photos: http://codex.wordpress.org/Uploading_Files#About_Uploading_Files_on_Dashboard :)

  Due to the differences between WordPress.org and WordPress.com though, please post over to https://wordpress.org/support/ if you’re having trouble with that.

  macmanx, what I’m trying to accomplish is set up the capability to create posts containing media from mobile devices. Post by email seems reasonable because it looks like it works, but the said attachments are failing to attach/upload to the wordpress site. The premium upgrade supposedly allows one to use Jetpacks post by email and video press features, but is failing to attach/upload any media file I attach in the email I send from my iPhone 5.

  That’s a WordPress.org blog, not a WordPress.com blog. You don’t need WordPress.com upgrades, like the Premium upgrade you purchased, for WordPress.org blogs.
