Your credit card was declined as invalid each time.
1. Are you sure that it’s a credit card (with a Visa, Master Card, American Express, or Discover logo) and not a debit card (with not one of the 4 logos) or gift card?
2. What country is your billing address based in?

macmanx it is a credit card with Visa logo [also with a debit card function]. i commonly use this card on Amazon Apple etc.
billing address is Australia from elliottboyd

MACMANX A LITTLE WORRIED ABOUT NO REPLY. THE ORIGINAL REGISTRATION USED EXACTLY THE SAME CARD WITH EXCEPTION THAT THE BANK UPGRADED IT AND NUMBER MAY BE DIFFERENT.
MAY I USE ANOTHER METHOD OF PAYMENT?

Sorry about the lack of reply, I had to sleep and then spend time with my family on Saturday morning.
Your card should be accepted without issue, but it is being declined. At this point I recommend contacting your credit card provider.

macmanx thank you for your help it is early morning Monday in eastern Australia and I will contact bank later.
Another matter; i tried to use your facility allowing registration of ‘phone number re emergency and there is no mention of Australia in drop-down menu. eb

At this time, we can only support countries that our SMS provider supports, and unfortunately Australia is not one of them yet.

macmanx thank you for above reply. i have contacted the bank and it says there is no reason i can’t make the payment.
the only thing i can think is that after the bank upgraded the card and issued a new one the old card would have been presented again and again and that WordPress thinks i’m unreliable and mad.
it is true that i have not attended to this matter during a long period of illness. i would like to go ahead now and wonder if there is any other way i can make a payment. [i might for example pay several years in advance or make a donation].
you all seem to have many things pressing on you and there can’t be a greats deal of money in your system. eb

The system shows the card as declined, which means we’re getting that from your credit card provider.
Since the domain won’t expire until December 3, and you’ll even have a week to renew after that, I recommend waiting about two weeks and trying again.
If it still doesn’t work, please contact us via http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ and we’ll work something out.
