failed migration
-
Hello
I transferred hosting companies and was under the false impression that the new host will also migrate my wordpress data and make everything work smoothly. I found out too late that I was supposed to ask specifically for them to do that and pay for it. Anyway, my old host deleted the access panel and I am not able to do a backup as described on many sites. I was able to get into the files manager and copy all the files and folders. I was also able to login to the database and make a ‘proper’ backup. However, based on the size of the backup I don’t think there was anything left into the database.
I would like to recover all my past posts. Is there a how-to for that? I haven’t found anything for my issue.

Hi there,
Apologies, but we can’t help with your issue directly because we don’t host theselfhealtouch.com on our WordPress.com managed hosting.
To explain, we are a fully managed hosting provider and use a custom server environment that is optimized for WordPress, provides built-in security and performance improvements, as well as in-house support for your site questions.
Because of the way we’ve optimized our service, we also use a customized version of WordPress that is different (under the hood) from what you use at your current provider. As a result we are not able to offer backups and historical data for sites hosted elsewhere. Of course, we would love to host your site here, where we we are happy to help further. But as it stands now, we can’t assist.
You definitely have the option to start your site to us so we can provide in-house help, but as it stands now, we cannot help since it was hosted elsewhere. It is the responsibility of your host to provide backups and sadly we do not have data from your previous site or we would gladly share it!
