Failed to embed peertube videos

    Hello, I’m Malsasa.

Today I just realized that embedding PeerTube videos into a post don’t work except the videos come from a certain domains.

If I embed a video from any PeerTube instance by regular ways (embed code, iframe, URL paste), then it became “Error details [>]” in the post and if I preview it, the code strangely deleted automatically in the post HTML. The same happens if I posted it. Why?

I can confirm that this error happens even for videos from good reputation websites such as Framatube.org and Blender.org. However, the videos I need to post into my blog are from tubedu.org and vid.northbound.online. Both are very good PeerTube instances. I don’t know why but perhaps it is related to WordPress.com’s whitelist?

On the other hand, if I embed a video from a certain Peertube instance, for example peertube.debian.social or peertube.linuxrocks.online, the video appears successfully in the post, can be played normally and the HTML code remains intact.

Please help me so I can post my PeerTube videos.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The answer is very simple: you can’t use embed code, iframe, etc … on a free wordpress.com website. You can only embed videos from a limited number of video platforms as listed at https://wordpress.com/support/videos/

So that’s why. Thanks for clarifying and I hope soon I can upgrade.

    Sincerely yours,
    Malsasa
