Failed to Export Media Library

  Hi there I’m having issue of downloading export media content from the option Export Content> Export media library > Download. I’ve downloaded multiple times and it keeps failing and giving me “Failed – Network error”. It keeps happening every time I tried it after 2gb or so, the file in question is just 3.5GB in side which I think should not be a problem.. I’ve also tried on different browsers, as well as other computers and even my mobile data, and still can’t download it. I’ve seen similar issues happening to another user from this thread https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/media-download-failed-2/

  Hi there,

  I recommend using a download manager like DownThemAll (https://www.downthemall.net/) which will allow you to resume the download if the connection gets interrupted.

  Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll try that out.

  While waiting for an answer just now, I was using just the database xml, I am able to download the media files from wordpress.com to my self hosted site, but I’ve noticed while importing the website suddenly time out. Any idea how to not get it to timed out? I’m afraid the media files might not have been imported fully due to the time out. Any suggestion on what could be done?

  Hmm, it sounds like there’s perhaps may be a block, or a memory limit at the self-hosted site.

  You would need to reach out to the hosting provider to see if there is one.

  A work around for this, is to export/import in bathes based on date. I hope this helps.

  Thank you all for helping out, found the issue.

  Upon further inspections there is no limits for WP_MEMORY_LIMIT value on Shared hosting server I’m in, but the ModSecurity rules have been triggered for my website from the Apache module. White-listed the triggered mod_security rule on the server so that I can bypass the block.
