Failed to insert PayPal Button

  I followed instructions on http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/#buttons to insert PayPal button to step 13. When I clicked Visual there was no button, just text. I’d be most pleased if you help out with this :)

  Hi there,

  I’m sorry for the trouble you had with that. It looks like you tried pasting the code from PayPal directly into the editor, is that right?

  Instead, you’ll want to enter the code from one of our PayPal Button Images in the text editor (step 12 in the guide you mentioned). You can copy the code beneath the image you want to use on the page, like this code:

  <img alt="Buy Now Button" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_buynow_LG.gif" />

  When you enter that code in the Text editor and then switch back to the Visual editor, it will show you that button image. Then, you can use the code you got from PayPal to create a link with that image (step 14).

  Hi Rachel – I had pasted the code in text editor – but in the visual screen the button does not appear – instead the text appears in the visual screen as well – the same as in the text screen.

  Could you please try adding that code again? (You can add it to the same page you were working on before or a draft page — you don’t have to publish the draft.) Then, please let me know the title of the page where you added the code so I can take a look and see what’s going on. :)

  Hi there,

  Thanks for that. I see that you entered the code you got from PayPal on that page, which looks something like this:

  https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=AAAAAAAAAAAA

  Can you please try replacing that code with this:

  <img alt="Buy Now Button" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_buynow_LG.gif" />

  That code will give you the button image. Once you add that code to your text editor, you can switch back to the Visual editor to see the button.

  Once you see the button, you can create a link using the code you got from PayPal. We have details about how to create that link in step #14 here: PayPal
