Failing to make a background transparent

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello!

I have been trying to make a background transparent using CSS and have failed to do so. I am new to this, so my appologies for any dumb questions

I am setting up a website with a woocomerce store and I want the background of this store to be fully or parcialy transparent so it will blend with the websites general background. In the first image attached you can see I am able to colour it blue without any issues. Now, when i turn it to transparent (image 2), you would expect to see the mountains from the picture below, but instead i get a white (light grey) background.
I believe it turns transparent as it should, but i looks like there is a “hidden layer” behind or so which also has to be changed. Is this right? Any ideas how to achieve this?

Ive been trying all sorts of things over the last few hours, hopefully someone can shine some light on this

    Thank you!
    Yaro
