Failure of Google search engine to see may article.
-
Hello,
I am having problem with an article I posted not being seen by Google bots. I used Google fetch and the result shows “fail” I tried yesterday and today. My sitemap shows the URL and other search engines like Yahoo is seeing the site. Is there a problem with my site – perhaps something preventing Google bot from searching my site? I never had this problem before. Any solutions? Thanks. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thanks again. -
Howdy,
Everything in your settings is correct from what I can see. I’m going to check into this further for you and let you know when I have an update.
Thanks!

I inquired about the problem on a Google forum but there seems to be no answer.
Here is the forum link.

Maybe something will come out of it.

On Google forums… I was given a URL thread https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/webmasters/-mqDmhww5Kg with possibly a similar problem.
Suzanne also noted that the servers might be the same.
Webado from the forum feels that there may be problem with server’s firewall/ various plugins or htaccess directives… which Suzanne also noted.
Hope this helps.

I also thought of something else… I renewed “no-ads” for my website on October 15. Maybe something about that service is causing problems.

Kraftbj – Suzanne from Google Forum informed me that another WordPress user might have a same problem. The link on WordPress forum can be found here.
Maybe you can collaborate with rachelmcr a staff from WordPress.
Thanks.

I just wanted to pass along a quick update. We’ve reached out and are working with Google on determining why their bot isn’t crawling as we’d expect.
I appreciate your patience.
-
I was checking webmaster tools on Google and still it seems the crawl rate is all time low.
Just wanted to say thanks again for helping me out.
-
Something is still amiss. Google has put us in touch with their “crawling engineering team” and we’ll determine what’s going on where and with who and get it straighten out!
-
Just want to say that my recent article I wrote is indexed with Google but I’m not sure whether that is because I manually requested Google to “fetch” that URLvia webmaster tools or whether the Google bot is up and running. I checked the crawl rate on my site and so far it seems that it hasn’t changed for the better.
I’ll be waiting and interested to know what the problem was. Thanks.

We’re still awaiting on Google to give a definite cause. They have increased the “crawl rate” (the number of pages per second they hit), so more should be crawled while the rest of this is figured out.
Thanks!

Howdy again,
From our end, the crawl rates should be increasing and approaching normal. How are the numbers looking for you?
Cheers!
-
Once again. Thank you very much. The crawl rate is back to normal and once again I am amazed how WordPress Support is. I am very lucky to have started with WordPress. No wonder why WordPress continues to be the top place for writers.
Thanks again!
Just curious do you know what was the exact problem?
-
Thank you for the kind words!
Yes, a very technical issue, frankly. In the process of upgrading systems, a record with our domain registrar (where we ourselves bought “wordpress.com” from) wasn’t updated as it should have been. For all “normal” visitors, the issue didn’t cause any problems, but Google’s crawler was more sensitive to it.
Good news is we worked directly with Google in resolving this, so there is no long-term impact to your sites, now that everything is crawling again as expected!
Have a great weekend!
