failure to properly utilise WordPress features
-
I want to upgrade. But I faced following difficulties for last one month which I could not ultimately solve:
1. I wanted to delete/edit some postings, but could not.
2. I wanted to use drag&drop feature, but failed.
3. I tried to make posting of PDF files, but failed.
4. I tried to follow WordPress tutorial instructions regarding above problems, but options mentioned in the instructions could not be practically found in my project website.
As such, I am confused regarding my payment. If things remain the same (even if it is due to my own ignorance /fault), payment will be just a wastage.
Is it due to free domain features?
Can anyone please help/suggest in this regard?Regards

Hi @learnquranbyword,
I’m sorry you’ve had so much trouble. I’ll do my best to help you figure these things out. Some of the issues you’ve experienced are due to the limitations of the free plan, but if you’re not prepared to upgrade there are usually ways to work around them. Here are some suggestions for dealing with the issues you’ve listed.1. Edit Posts
There are two ways to edit a post. You can go directly to the post you wish to edit and under the title there will be a small EDIT button. It will be on the same line as the date you posted and your author name. For instance, on your post QUR’AN PARA 27- ALL WORDS IN ARABIC, BANGLA AND ENGLISH there is a line directly underneath the title that says July 24, 2017 ~ learnquranbyword ~ EDIT. Click on the EDIT and it will take you directly to the editor.
The other way is to go to My Sites -> Blog Posts. This will show you a list of all posts. One each post listing you will see a small pencil icon with Edit next to it. Clicking on this will take you directly to the editor.
2. Deleting Posts
To delete a post you should go to My Sites -> Blog Posts. This will give you a list of all of your blog posts. On each blog listing you will see a … More section. Click on this and you will be shown a “Trash” option. Click on this option. Your post has now been sent to the trash. To empty your trash look at the top of the My Sites -> Blog Posts section and you will see three options. Published, Drafts and Trashed. Clicking on Trashed will take you to a list of all of your trashed posts. Clicking on the red link that says Delete Permanently will permanently remove this post from your site.
3. Drag & Drop
Could you please tell me which drag and drop functions you were hoping to use? You can learn more about the features specific to your theme here:
https://wordpress.com/theme/penscratch-24. PDF’s
Any plan on WordPress can upload and link to PDF files. To do so when you are editing a post simply click on the + sign on the left and click Add Media. Click on Add New and upload your PDF. Then click Insert and it will put a link in your post where people can download your pdf file.Embedding a PDF requires the use of either a third party service such as Google Docs/Scribd/Cloudup or code that is only available in the Business Plan.
