Failure to Update Payment Details

I received a notice that my domain will be renewed on 8 Nov 2024, however the credit card that it’s registered to is no longer valid and I will like to change it.
However, upon attempting to access my account, I got an error message stating that there are no domains registered to me.
The previous administrator for the website has left and I am wondering if the domain was properly transferred to me prior to that? If not, how is it that I received the notice for domain renewal as well?
