Fake Blog – Impersonation

  Dear WordPress Team,

  My name is Robbey. I am quite a popular journalist and MC in Vietnam, and there has been this blog which impersonates me.

  This blog has been made and spread in order to degrade me. It has either used my personal photos, or distorted them by photoshop, in order to deceive my readers. The use of photos is without consent, and with inappropriate text that suggest me as a prostitute.

  Not only the photos, but also the content is distorted. Please help me, because wrong information from this blog has been spreading around and all my friends and business contacts have been asking me a lot recently. Please take the blog down as soon as you can. I would really appreciate it.

  The content is very wrong and harmful, you can have your Vietnamese staff have a look at it.

  Hi Robbey. You should contact staff directly about this, since we are only volunteers here. I suggest you give them as much information as possible because it is not guaranteed that they will have Vietnamese-speaking staff on hand:

  DMCA only applies to copyright cases. If you have a stalking/impersonation case, or a libel case, you’ll need to contact staff and may need to seek legal help.

  Yes, of course. Sorry. This case is more complicated than simple copyright infringement.

  I already sent an email to DMCA last week but there has been no response. Probably because they don’t understand the language? Please can anyone help me get this message to be read by WordPress staff because I think they have Vietnamese staff and can manage the content.

  Just hang tight. This might even have to go through their legal people, so it might take a week or so. Contact them again and ask if they received it and when you can expect an answer, and use the contact form.

  This thread has been tagged, and the only way I have of reaching them is the contact form since all I am is a volunteer here. Since we are just coming out of a weekend they would have had less staff on duty, so hopefully in the next day or two they will get back to you.
