Fake Copyright Infringement Email using WordPress.com

    Dear Forum Users

    I have received this email about the copyright infringement from this person.

    Name: Wilfredo Eichmann
    Email: (email visible only to moderators and staff))

    I noticed something very fish about the email.

    Wilfredo Eichmann is keep using wordpress.com in his email.

    I do not believe wordpress.com has anything to do with this person or do you have any service like this really ?

    If anyone can clear, then please tell us.

    I used free image hosting service to share the screenshot of the email.

    I kind of think that this is some sort of phishing email to trick to click some bad link like below.

    https://contrpanel55.wordpress.com

    This link looks like designed to steal someone’s WordPress account information like password and ID.

    I changed the link address slightly so that it will not harm anyone.

    However, I really like to know if this person have really contacted wordpress.com or some sort.

    It is good to clarify just in case some other forum user is receiving similar emails to be threated.

    This is a known scam. WordPress.com Staff is dealing with scam.

    Just one tip for other member users.

    If you receive this Fake Copyright Infringement email , do not click anything on the email.

    Just block the email provider and bin them.

    Do not even try to reply to this scam guy.
