false new followers

  I have been getting lots of new followers lately, but my stats have not changed at all. Why is this happening? Does it have anything to do with WordPress being hacked? Perhaps these followers are not real???

  Folks can follow you from the WordPress.com Reader without visiting your blog: https://wordpress.com/#!/read/

  Also, where did you hear about WordPress.com being hacked? That’s news to me. We might need to correct some misinformation.

  Thanks for your response. Does that mean if they read my post on the WordPress.com Reader it is not added to my stats as a visitor or view?

  If so, how do I know how many people read my blog through Reader?

  Yes, that is correct.

  At this time, we do not yet have a way to track that.
