Fantasy Sports

  I am new to wordpress and somewhat illiterate when it comes to programming, yet want to know if wordpress is able to be used to create a fantasy sports application. I would like to mimic an espn, yahoo, cbssports, etc, but it seems that is software or an application w/in a site. I dont know what wordpress is capable of, any help regarding this issue would be great. Thanks
