FAQ For Upgrading?

Next month I will be purchasing the bundled value upgrade for my blog http://www.burstingplethoraofrainbowcolors.wordpress.com. I’ve been looking around for some frequently asked questions when it comes to upgrading, but can’t find any. If anybody knows where something like that might be, let me know please. In the meantime, I have two specific questions: I am currently using a free theme that I actually love. Will I be able to keep that theme when I upgrade? Also, how do I specifically upgrade this blog to a .com name? I want the name of my site to be http://www.burstingplethoraofrainbowcolors.com. Thanks.

I have not seen any FAQs on the topic of Upgrading but there are many support Documents on-line that explain what is involved and how it is done.
As to getting a dot com address, there are two ways of doing it:
1) Go and buy your own dot com address froma registrar like GoDaddy (or others who are cheap) and then you need to come here and map your domain by paying a fee of $12. See this article: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/
2) You can buy the domain from WordPress and do the necessary mapping at the same time (the same document above has the necessary info)
As to your domain name, my personal opinion is that it is very long and you might want to reconsider it because people don’t like long names. In fact I can’t remember them in the first place.

I don’t understand, why would I have to go to GoDaddy. I thought WordPress included this and more in the package I want to purchase? As for the name of my site, I appreciate your input, but it is what it is.

You do not need to use Godaddy, Name Cheap or others you can register your domain name with WordPress.COM, either stand alone or as part of a package – WordPress.COM is a low cost domain name registrar.
