FAQ section for changing domain name?

    Hi all!

    I’ve just purchased a premium membership and one of the first things I want to do is remove the “wordpress” from my domain name and just be enroutetoawesome.com.

    Is there a checklist anywhere of all of the things I need to do to make sure this goes smoothly? For example, making certain that old links still work, that search engine results will be the new site, etc. Basically, I want to do the digital equivalent of a notice asking the post office to forward your mail. I am CERTAIN there must be a page somewhere devoted to this, but I haven’t found it yet. Please link me, someone!

    Thank you for being so speedy!

    I’ve changed the new one to be my primary blog, but now it won’t load (I believe that can take up to 24 hours) so I won’t know until tomorrow whether or not that was all I needed to know. I’ll post again with any new problems.

    Hi Gem,
    It can take between 24 – 48 hours and rarely up to 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. It’s not uncommon for your own ISP to be last to flush their DNS caches. The good news is that I’m in Canada and the blog is correctly redirecting to your domain for me.
