FAQ's in a list form which are links to the specific place on the FAQ page
-
I would like to have a widget (or something) on the side of my FAQ page where users can click directly on the FAQ they want to go to. At the moment my FAQ page is just one long page of written content and users will have to scroll down to find what they are looking for. I really want to make it more user friendly. Another option would be to have all my FAQ’s as a list, which once clicked on will expand the text/answer to that specific FAQ. Is something like this possible on the free version of Baskerville 2 Theme?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Why don’t you use page jump links on your page?
See the guide for creating links in posts and pages: http://en.support.wordpress.com/links/

Hi!
So after looking at your site, I see that you already are halfway there to your desired FAQ page layout!
What you could do is set up a new page for each of the FAQs that you have written and will write, and then organize those pages under the main FAQ menu tab. Then, you can put links to each of the FAQ entries on the main page AND on the Text Menu widget on the right so that whenever someone clicks on the FAQ menu tab they get a list to chose from and then when they are in any given article, they have the option to go somewhere else with a click, instead of needing to go back to the FAQ menu.
What do you think of this? Let me know if you need help adding all these links but I would suggest adding the pages first, with the articles you’ve already written because then it’s an easy to type up the article titles and put the links to those pages on the Main FAQ page and the Text widget.
Let me know how it goes!

@timethief:
i’ve tried the page jump option you mentioned and it does work in theory, however the code does not stay saved. I must have done it 10 times already, the linking then works however when I go back to the pages and the editing, what I just entered in the code is now back to what it was and not a link anymore.inserting: <p id=”unique-identifier”>I am the target text.</p> and adjusting the code as indicated on the help page does not stay in the code even after I click on Update??
the portion of code: Click me! does however stay changed, but then the link has nowhere to go to because the other part of the code has gone back to what it originally was.
Does this maybe have to do with the plan I am on…I am not using a paid plan. I really cant understand once I click update, that the code doesnt stay the way I changed it to.
Any help??

Well, of course i’ve been trying it over and over again since i’ve made my last post and for some reason it has now stayed the way I wanted it to. I had to change each link individually and then update and then go back and make all the other links and it has seemed to work.
Thank you so much for your help (gregariousbadger you too), I really appreciate your quick responses to helping out my page. All the best for both of you!

Hi timethief,
unfortunately the changes I have made have gone back again, they did not stay as a link to info further down on the page. The links I have created to go back to the top of the page have stayed and are working but the ones I have for the headings of my FAQ’s do not work.
Can you maybe assist in why the HTML code does not stay saved when I change it? Its just so annoying because I feel I have done exactly what is required…especially when it works for a few minutes exactly the way I want it.
Does this maybe have to do with me being on a free plan? must I upgrade in order to change the HTML code?
Thanks

It might be something that made its way in to your HTML, even an extra space could break the whole compiler and thus leave you linkless.
Take a look at this doc and then see if there is anything in your HTML that looks wrong, like the spaces in between the code even at the end of the code. https://en.support.wordpress.com/html-troubleshooting/
Please let us know what you find out!
Thanks for coming back in the forums!
