Fashion blog widget
-
Hi,
I recently tried linking a ShopStyle fashion widget to my blog but it didn’t work. I was told via chat that wordpress.com doesn’t support that widget. What kind of widget could I use to preview clothes for a fashion post? An example would be the bottom of this post here:

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You cannot use any iframe widgets or JavaScript widgets on a WordPress.COM hosted blog. The software strips the code out for security reasons. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/
You cannot use any advertising widgets designed to drive traffic to third party sites as that is a Terms of Service violation. Here’s what gets a WordPress.COM blog suspended:

Provided the code for any third party widget is pure HTML, and not one of the codes I referred to above, then you can place the code for third party widgets into a text widget and it will display. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/

You cannot insert widgets into post or pages on any WordPress.WordPress blog. Widgets can be placed only in sidebars or footers.
Please just post the code here in this thread between code tags for me. I’ll examine it and let you know if you can use it or not.

Ok thanks! It’s kind of a moot point because I just wanted it on a post- clothing to relate the fashion post, but here it is:
<img src=”http://www.shopstyle.com/action/spreadWidgetImage?look=41505706″ alt=”J.Crew Factory” style=”margin:0;padding:0;border:0 none;box-shadow:none;background:none;position:absolute;left:0;top:0″></img><span style=”text-decoration:underline”>J.Crew Factory <span>Longsleeve Tops</span></span>
<span style=”text-decoration:underline”>J.Crew Factory <span>Flats</span></span>
</div></div></div> -
Did you try to copy and paste that code into a text widget? http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/

Hi there,
If you want this in a post, please go to Post > Add new in your WP-Admin or edit a post and switch to the Text Editor. Then copy/paste this:
