Hi,
It seems like you might be facing difficulties with a self-hosted WordPress.org website, and not with a WordPress.com-hosted one. WordPress.org is a free site-engine software, while WordPress.com is a web hosting company. You can find more information about the differences between WordPress.org and WordPress.com here: wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
You can find further support by posting to the WordPress.org support channel, available from here: wordpress.org/support/forums/

Interesting though that this is referencing the gardenhotline.org site – it is the only connection I can make to WordPress at all. When I try to log in I get a message that my email is not recognized.
