Fatal error after plugin update

  • Unknown's avatar

I ran a plugin update for share buttons and I am now getting a fatal error message when I try to go to my blog.
I cannot even go to my login page or admin pages.

The message reads – Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in /home/content/j/t/g/jtgrady/html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/really-simple-facebook-twitter-share-buttons/really-simple-facebook-twitter-share-buttons.php on line 1151

That is not a free hosted WordPress.COM blog. You are posting to the wrong support forum. We do not provide support at WordPress.COM for any installs of WordPress.ORG software. We provide support only for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs being hosted right here on this multiuser blogging platform.

WordPress.com and WordPress.org have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names.

If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

Then why is my account setup under wordpress.com – with the my web blog address listed there? And when I try to log in at WordPress.org, the system will not allow it.

The WordPress.org site tells me I don’t have an account under my user name and password. I don’t get it!!!

    Thanks

If you want to install plugins of any kind then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install. Apparently you have done that.

There is no FTP access and no plugin capability on free hosted WordPress.com blogs.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/

There is no upgrade you can purchase here that provides FTP access and the ability to install plugins and or any third party themes.

See here for a full comparison WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

WordPress.com and WordPress.ORG have different logins.
