Fatal error: Allowed memory size

I am getting this error anytime I try to access the Admin/Dashboard area on a WP site that I host.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 262144 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1350 bytes) in /home/tylerose/public_html/wp-admin/index.php on line 33

I looked at the recommendations for fixing this error and they all pretty much lead to changing the max memory limit in the php.ini from 32M to something from 38M up to 64M. The problem here is it’s claiming that 262144 bytes has been exhausted which is only .25M of memory, so the 32M memory limit set in my php.ini should be more than enough.

Despite my observation, I decided to change it anyway just to see what would happen. Since the dedicated server is mine to do with what I please, I’ve tried the memory limit at 38M, 64M, 128M and 512M. Still the same error. I am then lead to believe that WP is pulling the memory size from a different location and not the heart of the system.

So I placed lines in the wp-settings.php file to increase memory, still no such luck. Same error.

I upgraded from WP 3.0.1 to WP 3.2.1 and this is the result.

I also will note that I disabled ALL the plugin’s on the site via deleting the entry in the database.

    You said the magic words:

on a WP site that I host.

    Which means:

The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.
