I went to access my website and got the following error code:
Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home3/ab48592/public_html/wp-content/themes/ultra/inc/template-tags.php on line 31
How do I call Word Press to get customer support?? -

It’s not a blog, it’s my business website. I had someone help with creating the site then had some updates done last July 2016 by a graphic designer. I contacted my hosting company and they said all they can do is reset the theme of the site, which would mean paying more money to have the site fixed. I can’t seem to get a clear answer from anyone about what the actual problem is, or why I was not notified by WordPress that there was even a problem to begin with. When I try to login to the back end of my site, I get the same error code, so I have no idea what to do at this point.

Since your content is hosted someplace other than WordPress.com, there is nothing we can do to help you. WordPress in your case is simply software installed by your hosting provider. WordPress as a company would have no way of knowing if there was a problem at your hosting company. The two are simply not connected beyond the software your hosting company installed.If this error recently appeared after some change was made to the website, your hosting company might be able to restore it to a version prior to the change that caused this issue.
I wish i could be of more help, i know how frustrating this can be.

There have been no recent changes made to the site. How is the problem with my hosting company if the error code says wp-content/ themes? My hosting company said the problem is with the theme used on my site, which would’ve been chosen through Word Press. The customer service rep at Host Gator said I could try to contact the developer of the theme that was used but I can’t know the theme if I can’t login to WordPress. Is my only solution to reset the theme and redo the site??

I also don’t understand how this error code popped up out of nowhere when the site has not been changed in over 6 months.
