Fatal Error Message

When trying to log on to my wordpress site I keep getting this error and cannot log on:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_json_encode() in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas02_data01/58/2057858/html/wp-includes/update.php on line 97
Please help! I can’t figure out how to fix it! Thanks
