Faulty domain redirect
-
Hi, the redirect I set up from my wordpress.com blog to my current site is malfunctioning, sending visitors to the wrong post.
Should go here:

But instead goes here:

Blog url: http://faultythinking.wordpress.com/ -
For the redirect to work, you need to set up the same permalinks structure on your new site, as the one used on WordPress.com – the default structure is year/month/day/postname
Once you set this up, all redirect links should work as expected.

Thanks, that’s working now.
It might be an idea to surface this fact in the marketing for the redirect function, as it’s not entirely clear that you will be unable to alter the permalink structure.

Glad to hear you’re all set. Thanks for your feedback, I’ll be sure to update the Site Redirect support document/page.
