FAULTY PASSWORD PROTECTION
-
New posts emailed to subscribers of my blog that are password-protected are NOT password protected in email the first time they are sent out and viewed. This is an EXTREMELY unacceptable flaw.

Is there a way to remove my blog url from this post as well? Did not see the option to hide it before posting and there is no edit / delete option on this forum post. (also a feature worth looking at)

Only Staff and Moderators can edit, close or delete threads here and they will see your request when they enter this thread.

Your password protected posts are password protected via that link published here in the forum. I can see two of your recent posts are password protected and each asks for a password in order to view them.
The links being shown at the end of the first question is a rather new feature of these forums. It has been a very useful change for us volunteers (and for folks wanting assistance) to see which site a person with a question has. Instead of having to ask and wait for the OP to come back with a link, we can start helping immediately.
Also note that your username is linked to your blog.

I don’t know exactly how to describe the issue in a technical sense but my issue is with the emails that are sent out to “subscribers”. I talked to a friend of mine that is subscribed to my blog and receives email updates. She mentioned that she opened her email with my password protected post and was able to read the entire contents. When she re-opened the email, it then showed that my post was password protected.
I don’t know if it’s a server delay or a problem with the subscription security service but I too have definitely seen this occurrence at least one time in my memory with a password protected subscription email.

I have a question for you: how do you know that your protected posts are going out via email? Has someone told you that?
I ask because your feed shows them as protected:

Yes, the friend I mentioned in my previous post receives email updates of my blog whenever I write new posts.
The emails I’m referring to are the ones sent out via the “Blogs I Follow” option within the WordPress Reader.

Again, it is not a permanent issue. If one were to open a subscription email now, it would show that the post is indeed password protected.
It is something about the timing of the actual act of password protecting the posts that seems to be delayed longer than it takes to email out the subscription email.

I don’t have the email. The emails are from someone else’s account because I don’t receive subscription emails of myself.
-
Ok, if you get a chance, could you maybe ask them to forward it to you, then forward it to us?

Okay. I’ve subscribed to my own blog and tested a few different posts. I was not able to duplicate the flaw that shows the post within the email body itself but one thing I did notice that was consistent for all the emails is that the subject line of the subscription email displays the context of the password-protected post.
I have emailed a screenshot of the subject line and the email as well to support@wordpress.com
