Faulty tags in wordpress

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

I have just noticed that any of my posts that contains the personal tag as well as the photo tag automatically puts a tag in called sex in video games tag.

Which clearly as a clean blogger with not even a swear word on my blog has upset me greatly.

What I have done is just not tagged those two words together. So a post is either photo or personal. This works, but does not solve what really happened.

Has anyone else had this problem. Just try and tag photos or pictures and personal, then check to see from the newly tagged post if it takes you to the wordpress tags section. Then check if there is an added tag called sex in video games. When you click on the sex in video games all my posts come up. Clearly this is wrong.

This really upsets me. Actually looking back on all my posts they seemed to have been hijacked by this tag. Does anyone know what to do.

Please help me, as I have a clean blog, and find this kind of thing really upsetting.

I can’t see any tags on any photos or your posts, but that’s probably just me being thick.

I can imagine that this is upsetting for you. To get a quick resolve on this I would put it through as feedback.

ok just look at my another painted hand post it is of an elephant painted on someones hand.

    Another painted hand…awesome

Then on the left is has the catagories filed under pictures and personal.

then click pictures, it brings you to the wordpress tags with the lastest posts, you will find mine and it has an added tag called sex in video games. click on that and that has all my posts filed under that.

    How awful

here is the url for the tag in question, it brings up all my posts

    http://wordpress.com/tag/sex-in-video-games/

see all my posts are filed under that.

I complained in a post sometime ago about porn blogs on blogger when I was surfing the next blog button. I came accross the most sickening blog and flagged it as not acceptable.

But I also blogged about how disgusted i was… I have children who use the internet, and surf. I was so upset that my young childs eyes could come accross this so easily just by pressing the next blog button.

Maybe someone got upset at me for posting that, and has given me this tag with everypost

    Who knows

I see where it is appearing now.

I have got to be honest and say that this is much more likely to be a glitch with WP rather than a malicious attack.

For it to be malicious someone would have had to get either your password or access to the backend server, both of which are highly unlikely. If it was the latter then more than just your blog.

Please – put your feedback in and the dev team should be able to sort it for you.

I hope it’s a glitch. I have put it in feedback, I was just a bit upset to see that.

I wonder if it has happened to anyone else here.

I tested it on my blog and it didn’t happen there, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s malicious or targeted specifically at you. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

I complained in a post sometime ago about porn blogs on blogger when I was surfing the next blog button. I came accross the most sickening blog and flagged it as not acceptable.

Throwing this in since this came up a few months ago. Adult blogs here are supposed to be tagged as “Mature” and should not be coming up via the “next blog” feature. If one does, please submit a feedback requesting that that blog be so tagged. (ie it wasn’t done yet so it came up)

Further information. The following link is called “sex in video games…”

Sex in videogames: It’s time to grow up

    Hmm. I wonder if there’s a link…

Loks like the tag has been removed from the WP.com tag system.
