fave blogs on side

  Hi all
  i am very new at this so sorry if this a silly problem.

  I would like to add my favourite blogs on the side of my own blog. Like a widget but under the title i wish to add a few fave blogs and wish that by clicking over the name you can be directed to the link or a new window opens to access the blog. Can anyone guide me to a solution?

  1. Go to Appearance>Widgets and activate the Links Widget.

  2. Visit each blog and copy its exact URL from the address bar of your browser; then go to dashboard sidebar > Links > Add New: paste the URL, give the link whatever name you like, select the “blank” option in the Target module, click Add Link.

  You can also add a link to your blogroll via the admin bar at the top of the page (it must be hosted on WordPress.com).
