favicon – aka wasting my time again, great

  • Unknown's avatar

the favicon (16×16 .ico) for my page is representative of a previous user who deleted their page. this person had a very similar name to mine and the site allowed me to take the domain name. however their profile image is still associated and represented on the page entirely. providing no real staff support will not resolve this issue as I’m not using an FTP server and don’t have my own domain, I’m not running the software, only using the web application. I don’t need public help, I know well how to use the site functions but there is no access to the favicon.

thanks wordpress. I suppose I’ll go somewhere else. nice trial though.

  • Hello there,

I’m sorry you’re having troubles with the favicon.
May I ask you if the website you need help for is rjdailey.wordpress.com?

If it is so, you can login and change the image from Dashboard>Settings>General. There’s a box on the right side of the page titled Blog Picture / Icon. That’s the ‘favicon’ of the website. Change the image from there, save the changes and it should be fixed.
When doing this changes, I normally clear also the browser cache for the website, so to be 100% sure that while refreshing the page, the new icon appears straight away.

Hope this is useful for you. Feel free to let me know if there’s anything else you need and I’ll be happy to help :)
