FB image of site and 'Like' button

  I have attempted to insert HTML on my Welcome page to show the Facebook image of my site there and the like button. I used this: ‘<div class=’fb-like-box’ data-href=’http://www.facebook.com/londontravelconsulting’></div>. It showed up as a star with the word ‘like’ and ‘be the first to like this.’ I can’t get that to delete; it isn’t what I want. Is there a way to get the FB imaging and like button to show up?

  For activating likes go to https://en.support.wordpress.com/likes/
  For sharing icons go to https://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/

  Be aware that you need to use the Facebook likebox widget found in your Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets area and not the one from Facebook. See here http://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-integration/#facebook-like-box
  You install the Facebook likebox widget here > Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets
