FB like widget
-
I am trying to put FB like box into my blog. I keep getting info that I have wrong URL address and it shows the photo of my personal FB page. Where do I get the correct URL? I thought the correct one is the one I created when creating FB fan page…?

Hi there,
I wasn’t able to see any Facebook Like page in your sidebars to check what is going wrong, however I can tell you that you need to make sure that you’re copy/pasting the URL for your Facebook Business/Fan Page (as opposed to your individual Facebook Profile) into the widget. It should then find the page and display the information correctly.

thank you. I took the widget away as it just looked silly. i have just put it back in so that you can see it. the address I copied into the widget is the following:
https://www.facebook.com/medytacjabezego
If it is wrong address could you point me in the right direction…?
thank you :)

oh for some reason it started to work. I have just clicked it and it has changed into my fan page link :D
is there any chance to reduce the no of faces it shows, though? is there a limit at all?
thank you :D

Heya,
You can limit the dimensions of the widget, which should reduce the number of faces which are shown on it. You can control the size in pixels in the widget itself and then make sure you click “Save” before reloading your page.

Oh no the facebook like box has changed back to my personal photo :S clicking it does not help this time :( I will leave it as it is now so that you can see what is going on :(
Thank you!

When I went to your site this morning, your Facebook Like Box is still showing the image from your Facebook Page. Here’s what I’m seeing right now:

Oh weird. Perhaps it is only me that sees my private photo. Next time I notice this (it keeps changing :)) I will log out and check. I will let you know if it does not work.
Thank you.

No, that is not one of the options in the Facebook Like Widget. It automatically includes the number of likes.

hello – unfortunately my fb like box keeps changing. I logged out and took the screen shot “facebook profile” and put in my media library. It is definitely my private profile photo, even though yesterday it was my fan page photo :S
“przełącz” means switch over in Polish. I clicked it and it DID switch over to my fan page photo. What is going on? Surely it should not be switching on its own…?

That is strange! I’ve posted this issue to one of our developers who manages the Facebook widget, however keep in mind that Facebook themselves are constantly updating the code on their website and so these changes may be a result of their updates.

I was wondering – I have no clue about FB and WP so it might be plain insanity – could it have sth to do with me using FB sometimes as a private person and sometimes as a fan page? Perhaps the FB like box shows the “persona” I am using on FB while working on my blog?

As long as you have only entered in the URL for your Facebook page and not your private Facebook account in to the Facebook Widget then it should be displaying only the Facebook page information. It shouldn’t make a difference which account you’re logged in to when you are visiting your WordPress.com site! :)
