FB publicize

Hi! I recently created a FB page to go with my wordpress blog. I changed the publicize Facebook settings so that it is connected to my page and not my personal Facebook account. The only issue is, it’s now saying, on my personal page, “elizabeth bauer published a new post to wordpress.com” and then there is a preview of my post. I don’t want this on my personal FB account. Only on the FB page that has the same name as the blog. The page is called Back Road Family and the blog is backroadfamily.com. Please let me know if you can help me fix this. Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hey there!

It doesn’t appear that there are any sharing connections set up for your blog. Can you verify this for me by visiting the Settings -> Sharing page in your blog’s dashboard?

Sharing your posts using the publicize feature will only post to connected accounts. I’d recommend removing any existing Facebook connections and re-connecting to the Facebook page where you’d like to have your posts shared. You can learn more about connecting a Facebook page on our Publicize feature page:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/

If you’re still seeing posts shared on your own profile, is it possible that you’re using other services that automatically share your posts to your Facebook profile?

Be sure to let me know if you have any questions, as I’d be happy to help.

    Best,

    Andrew

Hi! I just checked and the sharing settings are set up for the backroad family facebook page. What other services would automatically share posts on my personal FB page?

  • I’m now able to see that you’ve successfully connected your Facebook page. I’ve also taken action to remove any lingering connections to your other accounts, so posts should no longer be shared on your profile.

When convenient, give it another go and let me know if you’re still having issues.

    Best,

    Andrew
