FDP Username and Password

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I am looking for my FDP username and password so I can manage my wordpress account through GoDaddy as that is where my domain and email addresses are from.

Where do I find this information?

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

For security reasons, we do not allow users FTP access to their WordPress.com site. It looks like your domain is set up with your WordPress.com site already. Can you tell me more about what you’re trying to do?

I am trying to set up an email address, my domain is through GoDaddy, and I changed all of the DNS info and it still won’t work. It seems to make more sense to run it through GoDaddy (so I would manage my website through them) but to do that I need my regular login info and the FTP login info.

Currently your name servers are set to us here at WordPress.com. This means you’ll need to add the required DNS records through our system. Here’s a guide on adding DNS records:

    Manage Your DNS Records

If you have any trouble, let me know what the DNS records you need to add are and I’ll check what you’ve entered into our system. :)

I know they are I have already tried to do that and it didn’t work. This is why I want to just switch it over to GoDaddy. Here is what I need to get put in. If you can do it for me, that would be awesome.

Locate the CNAMEs and set the following:

    Name:
    autodiscover
    Target:
    autodiscover.outlook.com
    Name:
    sip
    Target:
    sipdir.online.lync.com
    Name:
    lyncdiscover
    Target:
    webdir.online.lync.com
    Name:
    email
    Target:
    email.secureserver.net
    Name:
    msoid
    Target:
    clientconfig.microsoftonline-p.net

Locate the MX and set the following:

    Host:
    @
    Priority:
    0 Target:
    animalinstincts-ca01e.mail.protection.outlook.com

Locate the SRV and set the following:

    Port:
    443
    Protocol:
    _tls Name:
    @ Service:
    _sip Priority:
    100 Weight:
    1 Target:
    sipdir.online.lync.com
    Port:
    5061
    Protocol:
    _tcp Name:
    @ Service:
    _sipfederationtls Priority:
    100 Weight:
    1 Target:
    sipfed.online.lync.com

Locate the TXT and set the following:

    Name:
    @
    TXT Value:
    MS=ms87634930
    Name:
    @
    TXT Value:
    v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com -all

    Hi Dez,

It looks like you had a couple of records just a little bit wrong. I went ahead and corrected those and within a couple of hours they should be up and running OK. Let me know if you run in to issues. You may also want to reach out to GoDaddy directly. I believe they have a tool which can do a quick lookup online which checks all of the necessary records and will let you know which (if any) records are incorrect and what needs to be done to correct them.

Hope everything goes off without a hitch!

Hi! It says one TXT isn’t right or hasn’t been inputted.

    TXT Records —
    Name TXT Value
    @ MS=ms87634930

Would you be able to fix that for me? Thank you!

Not a problem! Looks like it had the prefix of “dez” instead of @. There’s another TXT record that also had a prefix of “dez” which I also updated. Sorry I missed those in the first place!

Should be all sorted now, though keep in mind that .ca domains can take a few hours to update across the internet. Give it some time before you check again with your mail provider!

Not a problem at all! It’s what we’re here for.

Best of luck. Hope you have a great week!
