Feature Image for each post is showing an incorrect image.

When I go to submit a blog post and share it on Facebook, the feature image on facebook for the blog post is NOT the image that is in the actual blog. I’m not sure how or why this is happening? It’s not even an image that has been uploaded into my media files! It’s an instagram image–and not even my most recent instagram post. I have an instagram widget at the bottom of my page, and i’ve even tried deleting it…and it still comes up incorrectly. It’s been happening for quite some time now, and it usually helped to delete the initial post on facebook, go into my blog, and manually share it. But this time not even that is working.

Other social media is posting correctly, it just seems to be on facebook.

    HELP!

    Thank you,
    Lisa

    Hi Lisa!

I checked your most recent post here:

    http://omyourhealth.com/2015/01/06/facts-tips-about-cleansing/

It doesn’t look like that post has a featured image set, and the image within the post is pretty small. Can you try setting a featured image that is at least 250×250?

The issue here is that Facebook is trying to pull a quality image for your post. It pulls images in the order mentioned here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#images-in-publicize

If you have a quality, appropriately-sized image as the featured image, that should work.

Once you set the featured image for the post above, can you run the URL through the Facebook Debugger here?

    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object?q=

Just enter the URL and click “Fetch new scrape information.” After that, the featured image you’ve set should appear when you share the post. This step isn’t required for new articles going forward. Facebook just stores a cached version of your post. If you change the featured image, you need to reset the Facebook cache, which is what that handy tool does.
