Feature image problem

    Hello!

I am having problem when I assign a feature image to my blog posts. I am using wordpress Twenty Eleven. I always start posts, by pasting an image into the post. In addition to doing this I now want to add a post feature image so that this appears on social media shares and thumbnails of the blog post, etc.

Post with image problem (i.e. image appears twice – in the post and on the strip at top – I don’t want it to appear on the strip on the top, it never used to, and I wan’t only blog feature images to appear here [not post feature images]):

Silly season, part 1: the managers

Post without image problem. You can see another image (i.e. a blog feature image and not a post feature image) appears on the top strip. This is correct:

The 2019 Brazilian Série A in numbers

Any idea why this problem arises, and how to ensure that posts appear like the second one?

    Thank you,

    Brian

  • Hi Brian!

I’m afraid that, your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Dreamhost.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

You can look for help at the community forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

http://wordpress.org/support/ is also a great resource for sites using the open-source WordPress.org software.
