Feature Image Re-sizing

    Hi, I am using the Orvis theme and I need some help with multiple aspects.

    1. Feature Image for Blog posts: All my posts have different image sizes on the Blog page and I would like to have a standard size (preferably thumbnail) for all of them.
    2. Text Alignment: When I add a BlogPost inside a post and use the ‘select specific post option’ the text overlay on the image has weird alignment. The header and the excerpt are not aligned.
    3. I selected ‘show excerpt’ but the Blog page continues to show full posts. Is the theme overwriting my admin selection? How do I change this?

    With this particular theme, ideally, the images would need to be uploaded as such the same size. Please see this helpful guide on image optimisation: https://wordpress.com/support/media/image-optimization/

    That sounds odd, are you able to provide an example so that we can take a closer look at that please?

    If you have a look at the above link, you can see that:

    1. it always shows full posts even when I select show excerpts in admin

    2. If you scroll down to the post “Spain in 21 Days – Part 1”, the post I embedded inside it “Granada as a Day Trip from Malaga” has weird alignment on the image overlay text.

    Am I doing something wrong? Thanks a lot for your support!

    To clarify, that is the setting for your RSS feed only. The Orvis theme does not have an option to show excerpts on the site itself, which is why you see no change if you visit your blog page at https://arbitraryfox.wordpress.com/expat-blog/

    Instead, to add a “continue reading” link into your blog post (so only a short excerpt is shown) you can manually add the More Block to your blog text: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/more-block/

    This block will add a “continue reading’ link in the exact place you add it to your blog text. This is (in my mind) better than an automated excerpt setting, which can sometimes cut your text mid-sentence, which can be a bit awkward.

    I’m not sure I undersand this as I did not see “image overlay text” when I visit https://arbitraryfox.wordpress.com/expat-blog/

    Thanks a lot for your detailed info. I found the more block a bit tedious but I will go for it now :)

    On the image, the header is right aligned , the excerpt is left aligned, and the date is again right aligned.

    Thanks for that screenshot. It looks like a theme bug. I have just reported it here. You can subscribe to that issue to be notified of any update.

    Can you help out? Is it the same bug or is this something different. My previously reported issue hasn’t been resolved..

    It looks like this might be a separate bug to the one above.

    They may very well be related, but I’ve reported this here for good measure.
