Feature image will not show on blog posts using the wilson theme

    I have setup up my blog today with the Wilson theme, which works well except I cannot get the feature image to show on posts
    While I am in edit mode and after I have selected the feature image I can see it at the top of the post. After publishing I can see it while in the home menu, however as soon I click continue reading the post comes up in fill without the feature image, all photos within the post are visible. I get the same result ie, cannot see the feature image if I click directly from the posts menu. I created another site completely clean and got the same result, however on the Wilson demo I have seen the feature image presented when clicking on a post, so I know it is possible, any help would be appreciate, maybe I inadvertently configure a setting wrong?

    Wilson does not show the featured images on the single post pages, such as on http://hikingfaith.com/2015/12/29/walk-into-history-dad-and-daughter/ . Some themes do and some do not. It all depends on the decision of the theme designer. There is no way to add the featured image to the single post pages on Wilson.

    Which post on the Wilson Demo did you see the featured image showing on the single post page? The only one that I see where that occurs is the one with the street car on the hill, but the reason that image is showing when you click through to the post is because that post is set to the Image Post Format.

    Have you considered adding the image at the top of the post content instead of setting it as a featured image? That way it would show in both locations. You may wish to try a test post on that to see if that would work for you.

    This is what I want to be able to do with my posts (I cannot confirm what post format is being used for this)
    With the suggestion that you made how would I get the image to present above the title, or do do you mean insert the image prior to any text. Thanks

    That demo is for the self-hosted version of Wilson (for people running the WordPress software on their own hosting), which is a bit different than the version here on WordPress.com.

    With the suggestion that you made how would I get the image to present above the title, or do do you mean insert the image prior to any text.

    He’s suggesting inserting the image before your text in the post editor.
