Feature images appear blurry in post
-
Hello,
All of the featured images on our site appear blurry. I’ve read the recommended blog posts [http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/07/23/maximum-image-width/] and [http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/01/16/image-quality/], tried uploading them exact column width at 72 dpi, tried uploading higher resolution and nothing changed.
All of the images are optimized using photoshop prior to upload and are only about 50px wider than the actual column width, but after that they change quality, I cannot edit HTML code for the feature images because feature images are not a part of the post. And it shouldn’t be that hard to get images to appear right – editing every image in HTML after upload just seems kind of ridiculous.
The odd thing is, they upload correctly, they just change in post, for example:
In MEDIA preview for single image, it appears sharp: http://www.quipmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Junglegym1.png
But same image in post is blurry: http://www.quipmag.com/sisters-doing-it-for-themselves/Same goes for .jpeg images:

MEDIA view of the invisible is 720 px wide
Post view is scaled down to 659 px wide
It appears that your theme is scaling the images to fit the column. The difference is significant. You have a self-hosted site using WordPress 3.71 and this forum is exclusively for WordPress.com. Our platform is different. You need to head over to WordPress.org forums:
