feature images larger when i click on a post
-
yes that helped thank you!
now another thing is that in main page there is not youtube thumbnail “photo” (you know with the play button) but inside the post it works fine, youtube video appears correctly.
how can i set a youtube video as a featured image? i used a tutorial i found something about “format” settings to set as video but it was of 2020 and now wordpress doesnt have that option
is that even possible? what should i put as a feature image? inside post there will be only a youtube video

Hello there,
The featured image would be set inside of YouTube.
https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/72431?hl=en-GB
This would be picked up by the YouTube block.
It looks like the Watch on YouTube image seen in the post there is the featured image, not the video itself.

yes its not the video because if i dont use feature image it doesnt show anything there, empty. i thought maybe i could make the feature image smaller and the user sees youtube inside post but i can do that either.
about your answer now at the beggining the video has a thumbnail that is automatically obtained by youtube when i publish the video. look i am deleting the feature image

you mean i have to add a youtube thumbnail image of my own? not automatically in order to work? because if i do that it asks me for my phone number to give to youtube which i am not sure i want to do that
-
It sounds like you’d like WordPress to automatically get a thumbnail from Youtube and use that as the featured image.
We can request that as a feature, but it’s not built in right now and would take some design work (what if there’s more than one video? What if there’s another image in the post?) as well as programming and permission from Google (what if they don’t want us using their API that way? etc). So while it’s a cool idea, I can’t promise it would happen anytime soon.
For now, featured images need to be set manually. Your best quality is probably just getting a screenshot of your choice. I hope this helps!

Also, two tips for forums help:
Right now we’re discussing Youtube videos under “feature images larger when I click on a post”. If someone has tips on Youtube videos for you, they’re unlikely to know you’re asking about them here. Same goes for if someone else has questions about youtube videos that can be helped by this discussion. So it’s best to create one “topic” for each different issue you’re asking about.
Also, if you’re waiting for help, it’s best to not add new replies. We work in queues, oldest to newest, and new replies may move your request back to the end of the line. If you’d like more of a live-chat support experience, we do offer it with other plans: https://wordpress.com/support/help-support-options/
Hoping this helps!

as far as your first comment, it could take the first video/image that there is in the post (like blogger succesfully does) but ok undestood have to do it manually. but because i dont want to, i am opening another topic how to make feature image smaller (so that i can put a small image and then the big youtube video inside the post)
as far the second u r absolutelly right, i willl open new topics and i am sorry. u can delete out whole conversation from a point further if you want and suits you
thanx again
