Feature picture loading too slow or not at all.

Featured picture loading super slow, and sometimes not loading at all. The hour glass just sits there as if it’s trying to load it, but 80% of the time it never loads.
I’ve checked it on different computes, cell phones and using Firefox, Explorer and Chrome and it still has the same problem. I even changed the picture to something smaller in size, but that didn’t fix the problem.
Please help!!! I just started the blog and did a huge announcement about it so a lot of people will be checking it out over the next few days. I need to working.

The bulk of the problem actually appears to be the background image.
The image itself is over 6MB in size, which can actually take a few minutes to load over a slow (or cellular) connection. Basically, the strain of loading it is causing the browsers to eventually “give up.”
Is there any way that you could slightly lower the quality, and the overall image size. It doesn’t need to be 3803 × 2526. A width of 1920 should be sufficient for most modern displays.

I looked at the photo and it was showing as 1MB with a width of 1617. I’m confused how you saw something different. Am I missing something?
I deleted it, and photoshoped it again at even less than 1617 and saved it as a medium (rather than high) resolution image and uploaded it. Same problem. Not showing up or slow to upload.
I then removed it and put something similarly small in it’s place (another photo), but still had the same problem. I’m about to give up. Help.

Hm, interesting. It looks like you had multiple copies of your background photo. I just picked the wrong one.
However, today after multiple tries, your featured image has loaded quickly without any issue, as has your background.
Are you still having trouble today?
